News comes from Ken of Kojima Productions that, KP will be represented by Sean Eyestone & Tan ‘Jackie’ Zang at this years E3. I asked him if Kojima would be attending and said only they would be there from the team.

With Sean and Jackie having demo’d the game for E3 attendees last year, we still have no confirmation whether or not the same will happen for this years or whether the game will be playable on the show floor either.

Having been to E3 many times and being used to seeing a lot of the team being there, I will say, it will be very different with the lack of presence from the full team.  This was something I unfortunately feared and predicted on our last podcast, but I’m sure the whole team is working hard on putting the finishing touches on The Phantom Pain.  I can’t wait to see the new trailer which will undoubtedly highlight the fruits of their labor.

Don’t forget to join MGN on 9am(PST) Monday for the first tease of the new trailer on MGN’s Twitch Channel, then 11am(PST) for the full reveal. Keep it here for more.

Via GameSpot by Peter Brown and Rob Crossley:

A fallout between Kojima Productions and its owning publisher, Konami, has led to senior staff at the studio being restricted access to corporate internet, emails, and phone, GameSpot understands.

Along with the restricted communications, key developers at the studio, such as Hideo Kojima, will now have limited opportunities to lend their appearance to promotions of the studio’s upcoming game, Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain.

Power struggles between Kojima Productions and Konami have led the publisher to make drastic changes, including the employee status of its Metal Gear team. Some senior staff at the studio, including Kojima, now essentially work as contractors, not permanent employees.

The extraordinary measures were revealed by a source within the studio, speaking to GameSpot on the condition of anonymity. The person explained that, once the Phantom Pain project is finished, in all likelihood the management at the studio will disband.

“After we finish MGSV, Mr. Kojima and upper management will leave Konami. They said their contract ends in December,” the source claimed.

The person added: “At a team meeting, Mr Kojima explained that team have to be one and make a good game for fans.”

This comes via our friends from JunkerHQNet twitter feed. During the “Ask Him Anything Interview” on Twitch with Geoff Keighley – London 13/03/2014, Kojima was asked the following below:

Will the Camp Omega level be re-visted in The Phantom Pain?

The question is @ 27:11 into the video

Via Dual shockers and Kojima on Twitter.

With the Tokyo Game Show only days away, Kojima Productions will be showcasing more Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain as well as more P.T. (Silent Hills) information and details. Kojima was busy on twitter today and shared an off screen shot of Snake at Mother base with Kaz, Ocelot, and a Diamond Dog soldier in the background of which, more will be shown at TGS.

Dual shockers has translated Kojima Productions schedule for TGS which includes P.T.(Silent Hills) below.

Konami and Kojima Productions just announced the detailed schedule for the stage events for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and P.T. at Tokyo Game Show.
P.T. will have only one stage event, titled “Visible,” and will be repeated every day of the show, from the 18th to the 21st of September.

  • “Vocation” will be repeated every day of the show, from the 18th to the 21st, and will star actor Dante Carver.

“This Thursday, IGN will premiere the 25-minute behind-closed-doors demo of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, previously only at last week’s Gamescom Expo in Cologne, Germany. You’ll see crazy cardboard box shenanigans, open-world exploration, how the day-night cycle affects mission gameplay, and even your first look at multiplayer.

See you Thursday at 3am PT/6am ET/11am BST! We’ll have the video in multiple languages on IGN affiliates around the world, and for the Japanese-language version, be sure to stay tuned to KojimaStation.”

The same footage can be seen above but obviously we will see it in much better quality Thursday.

Alice O’Connor of Shacknews reports:

There’s an unpleasant but not unexpected hole in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain’s platform lineup. The open-world stealth ‘em up is confirmed to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 and Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 and… no, no PC. Or not yet, anyway, as series creator Hideo Kojima says even though a PC edition is not being worked on right now, it hopefully will come one day.
